Martini Park
By Claire Reyes

If you like the nightlife, you’ll love Martini Park. This upscale lounge located in the Shops at Legacy in Plano, a posh suburb just north of Dallas, is one of the area’s hottest nighttime destinations.
The brainchild of Chris Barish, co-creator of some of the most popular after- dark spots in Las Vegas and New York, Martini Park is the see-and-be-seen place in the Dallas area for the over-30 crowd.

The sophisticated setting with its soft lighting, plush leather banquettes and dark woods is visually appealing and the nonstop music provided by a variety of local bands and, in their absence, a DJ, gives Martini Park an energetic vibe. For a more intimate, quieter atmosphere opt for a seat on the spacious outdoor patio when the weather’s nice.

The menu features a long list of small plates to encourage sampling and sharing. Items include traditional choices ranging from spinach artichoke dip and jumbo shrimp cocktail to innovative fare like a crab cake corn dog served with a Creole remoulade and a mac & cheese “stix” made with aged White Cheddar, smoked Gouda, Mozzarella, smoked ham and chives that is lightly breaded and fried and served with a white truffle sauce.

Three different types of satays are offered as well as four different sliders (bite-sized sandwiches) including the pulled barbeque pork and filet mignon. Homemade cotton candy and fresh from the oven donuts are sure to tempt dessert lovers.
The drinks menu is, not surprisingly, heavy on martinis. Apple, cucumber, strawberry-mango, chocolate, espresso, coconut, blueberry — the list goes on and on. Other libations include a Whiskey Peach, Grapefruit Caipirinha and Mint Julep. A selection of wines by the glass is also offered including an Argentinean cabernet and Washington riesling.

Interesting food, stiff drinks and an appealing atmosphere. Martini Park delivers it all.
